چکیده
Evolutionary conservation of hindbrain segmentation in vertebrates. On pages 526–538 of this issue, Parker et al. explore the origin and diversifi cation of the Hox gene regulatory network for vertebrate hindbrain segmentation and patterning. The cover depicts transgenic embryos of three different species – sea lamprey, mouse and zebrafi sh – expressing fl uorescent proteins in the developing hindbrain through the activity of segmentspecifi c cis-regulatory elements. Segmental enhancers from mouse and zebrafi sh can function when introduced into lamprey, highlighting the conservation of this gene regulatory network to the vertebrate base. متن کاملIntegrated Process Planning and Active Scheduling in a Supply Chain-A Learnable Architecture Approach
Through the lens of supply chain management, integrating process planning decisions and scheduling plans becomes an issue of great challenge and importance. Dealing with the problem paves the way to devising operation schedules with minimum makespan; considering the flexible process sequences, it can be viewed as a fundamental tool for achieving the scheme, too. To deal with this integration, t...
متن کاملOcular parameters of biological ageing in HIV-infected individuals in South Africa: Relationship with chronological age and systemic biomarkers of ageing☆
HIV-infected individuals have an increased risk of age-related morbidity despite antiretroviral treatment (ART). Several anatomic and functional ophthalmological parameters are associated with increasing chronological age. These may, therefore, potentially serve as biomarkers of ageing. We investigated associations between ocular parameters (lens density, retinal vessel calibre, corneal endothe...
